ASN 2006 EUROPEAN CONFERENCE
GLOBALIZATION, NATIONALISM AND ETHNIC CONFLICTS IN THE BALKANS AND ITS REGIONAL CONTEXT

FELLOWSHIP GRANTS COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Forum for Ethnic Relations and the Balkan Trust for Democracy Competition a Project of the German Marshall Fund are announcing a competition for 40 fellowship grants for the ASN Conference on GLOBALIZATION, NATIONALISM AND ETHNIC CONFLICTS IN THE BALKANS AND ITS REGIONAL CONTEXT to be held in Belgrade , September, 28-30, 2006. Fellowship grants include travel, accommodation (room and board) and Conference fee. All fellowships are provided through the grant of Balkan Trust for Democracy.

Eligibility and Terms of competition:
Young researchers from the following countries will be eligible to apply: Bosnia and Herzegovina (five grants), Croatia (four grants), Macedonia (five grants), Albania (five grants), Bulgaria (five grants), Romania (three grants), Serbia (five grants), Montenegro (three grants), and Kosovo (five grants).
Preference will be given to young candidates (35 years of age and younger)
Candidates should prepare and submit the papers to the Academic Advisory Board not later than March 31 st 2006. The papers should be submitted by email (ferbgd@eunet.yu) in a Single Paper Form (that was announced together with the Call for papers) with a special remark: FOR FELLOWSHIP GRANT .
The decision on selected candidates will be taken between May 31, and June 10, 2006. A representative of BTD will take part in the work of Academic Advisory Board – AAB and Conference Committee – CC, in charge of the assessment of submitted papers.
